Nov. 26 - Free metered parking throughout Town

10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Stores open serving "sips and sweets;" Shepherdstown Men's Club "Christmas Bazaar" downstairs at the War Memorial Building on German Street

This year’s Christmas in Shepherdstown celebration will begin Nov. 26 with the lighting of the town tree and arrival of Santa. There will be a wide variety of events that weekend and the following, with the annual Christmas parade set for Dec. 4.

5 - 8 p.m. Kiwanis chili and cornbread supper with baked goods on the second floor of the War Memorial Building on German Street; Bonfire and s'mores on King Street (sponsored by the Shepherdstown Fire Department); Chestnuts roasting in front of the Shepherdstown Public Library

5:30 p.m. The Grinch makes his appearance along with Mrs. Santa and the "Whoville" residents

6 - 7 p.m. German Street closed to traffic from Church to Princess streets

6:15 p.m. Mrs. Santa reads Christmas stories on the wall at McMurran Hall

6:30 p.m. Annual holiday welcome by Mayor Jim Auxer on McMurran lawn

6:45 p.m. Santa arrives

7 p.m. Santa and his elves entertain families inside McMurran Hall.

8 p.m. "A Christmas Carol" presented by the Full Circle Theater Company at their theater on Princess Street. For more information and tickets go to www.fullcircletheaterco.org.

Nov. 27 - Free metered parking on German Street.

10 a.m. - 4 p. m. Shepherdstown Men's Club "Christmas Bazaar" downstairs at the War Memorial Building on German Street

10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Piccadilly Posh Photography will be doing "Images with Santa" at 116 E. German Street. Time reservations can be made at molly@picadillyposh.com.

11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Historic Shepherdstown Museum open.

11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Our Gift to the Town at the War Memorial Building (sponsored by the Shepherdstown Business Association and Christmas in Shepherdstown); "Unity in Our Community" celebration

noon - 2 p.m. Free carriage rides on King Street (weather permitting).

noon - 3 p.m. James Rumsey Boathouse open, with talks about James Rumsey, inventor of the first steam boat, at noon, 1 and 2 p.m.

6, 7 and 8 p.m. Trinity Episcopal Church will present their Live Nativity in front of their church at the corner of Church and German streets.

2 3 p.m. Annual Christmas Music at O'Hurley's General Store in the Great Hall

4:30 - 7:30 p.m. Shepherd University Community dinner served at the University Dining Hall. Adults, $7.75; children 3 to 11, $4; children under 3, free. 8 p.m. "A Christmas Carol" presented by the Full Circle Theater Company at their theater on Princess Street.

Dec. 4

10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Shepherdstown Men's Club "Christmas Bazaar" at the War Memorial Building on German Street, with artisans selling goods both upstairs and down. Captain Benders in the kitchen selling good "eats."

11 a.m. Annual Christmas parade down German Street featuring Live Nativity participants, marching bands and Morris Dancers.

11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Historic Shepherdstown Museum open.

noon, 1, 6, 7 and 8:00 p.m. Trinity Episcopal Church will present their Live Nativity in front of their church at the corner of Church and German streets.

12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Agape School of the Performing Arts recital at Reynolds Hall. Advance tickets available.

1 - 3 p.m. The Historic Shepherdstown Museum will host children's crafts and stories and provide hot drinks and cookies at the Entler Hotel on German Street.

3:45 p.m. Christ Reformed Church welcomes back internationally acclaimed organist, Dorothy Papadakos, for an evening of popcorn, pizza, silent films and an Advent Choral Eucharist accompanied by thrilling organ improvisations.

6 - 11 p.m. Shepherdstown Music and Dance Contra Dance at the War Memorial Building. Beginners' class at 6:00 p.m. Dance begins at 7:30 p.m. All welcome, and wear soft-soled shoes.

7:30 - 9:30 p.m. Holiday Gala Concert sponsored by "The Friends of Music" at the Frank Center for the Performing Arts. General Admission tickets are $22 in advance; $27 at the door; $22 for faculty, staff and seniors; $15 for students 18 and under; and free to Shepherd students.
