Men's soccer edges out West Chester

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Sophomore forward Kevin Doyle (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County) scored in the 61st minute to lead Shepherd University to a 1-0 win over West Chester in men's soccer action at West Chester on Saturday afternoon.

West Chester had an 8-5 advantage in shots and an 8-2 edge in corner kicks.

Senior goalkeeper Edgar Lopez Zuniga (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery) had three saves in a shutout effort for the Rams, while Garrett Bleiler had one save for the Golden Rams.

Shepherd improves to 4-5-1, while West Chester falls to 2-5-2. The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they host Wheeling Jesuit for a 3 p.m. contest.
