JHS baseball holding tryouts

February 24, 2012
Shepherdstown Chronicle

Tryouts for Jefferson High School baseball will be held Feb. 27-29 at the Ranson Civic Center beginning promptly at 3:20 p.m. and ending at 5 p.m.

Those wishing to try out for the teams are reminded that a 2.0 grade point average is needed. In addition, three forms, the athletic questionnaire, physical form and insurance release form, must be brought to the first day of tryouts. Without the physical form, potential players will not be allowed to practice.

Coach John Lowery reminds potential players that there are only 14 practice dates before the first scheduled game of the season. Players must participate in all 14 practices to be eligible to play in the first game. The only exception is for players coming out of a winter sport. Those players only require seven practice sessions to play in the first game.
