Patricia was dear to her family, her church and to all who knew her. Her love for the Lord was contagious; her encouragement and support for her husband, her family and especially her grandsons, was unbounded. Her devotion to friends, and all that is right and true, was extraordinary. She was joyful in the Lord!
Mrs. Watson was very active in her church where her husband serves as rector, St. Michael the Archangel Anglican Church, and in numerous organizations: Pack Horse Ford Chapter of the West Virginia Society, Daughters of the American Revolution; Shepherdstown Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy; and Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority.
She had been an original volunteer with Concern Hotline, a member of the Alumni Board at Shepherd University, a founding member of the Battletown Garden Club, a member of the Winchester Medical Center Auxiliary, a member of the Friends of Handley Library, a member of the board of directors of the Clarke County Historical Association and a docent at the Burwell-Morgan Mill.
A Requiem Mass was celebrated at Saint Michael the Archangel Anglican Church at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 9, with the Rt. Rev. Paul C. Hewett, Bishop of the Diocese of the Holy Cross, officiating. Interment followed at 1:30 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Shepherdstown.
