School to host events

By Staff | Oct 5, 2012

Shepherdstown Elementary School will host a toy sale and swap on Sunday, Oct. 21 from 12-3 p.m. Gently used toys are welcome at the school’s table or vendors may purchase table space to sell their own items. A $20 donation for the space is required. Cash awads and prizes will be given for the most unique toy, the best display and the best vintage toy. Donors of prizes include Morgan’s Grove Market, Franklin American Home Mortgage and Studio 105.

In conjunction with the toy swap and sale, elementary school dad, Chef Scott, will prepare a meal for puchase. The menu includes smoked pulled pork barbecue, cole slaw, sweet cornbread, baked beans, autumn apples and fresh baked cookies. A choice of atomic, Memphis or Carolina barbecue sauce will be offered. Meals will be served at 12:30, 1:30 or 2:30. Carry-out will also be available. Tickets are $8 per adult, $4 per child age 3-12. Those under three eat free. Tickets are available in the school office. Contact Jen Wabnitz with any questions at 304-876-8496.
