December Happenings at Jala Yoga

By Staff | Nov 30, 2012

Jala Yoga, the yoga studio at Mellow Moods Cafe and Juice Bar, 117 West German Street, announces several happenings during the month of December, all with the goal of bringing more yoga and health to the community.

On Wednesday, Dec. 5, from 7-9 p.m., health coach Lindsey Little teaches a “Sugar Blues” workshop, in which those people who are constantly craving sweets will be given practical ways to control their cravings and learn ways to improve energy and stabilize moods. The cost is $30.

On Friday, Dec. 14, from 8-9:45 p.m., Christa Mastrangelo Joyce teaches “Yoga After Dark.” In this special class, Christa will lead students in a yin yoga practice that has a special focus on the digestive system and will conclude with a one-hour ‘yoga nidra’ practice, the benefits of which are better concentration, memory, and ability to focus. The cost is $10.

Many of the regularly scheduled classes during the week of December 10th will be available by donation, with all proceeds going toward helping a local family during the holidays. Donation classes include Monday, Dec. 10, 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11, 5:15 and 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12, 4:30 and 6 p.m., and Thursday, Dec. 13, 12 p.m. Students are welcome to take any of these classes for whatever donation amount they choose.

Finally, from Dec. 26-Jan. 1, all morning classes are free as our gift to the community! Class cards are also on sale during the entire month of December, for $5 off one card and $10 off the purchase of a second card at the same time.

Jala Yoga offers classes seven days a week in the vinyasa style of yoga in which poses flow from one to another. Jala Yoga believes that yoga is accessible and necessary for everyone, and both beginners and seasoned practitioners are welcome.
