The Library Board is seeking suggestions about future uses to be made of our present building at German and King Streets. If you are interested in this Market House Re-Use Committee or in the Safe Access Committee (which will study safety along Route 480 at Lowe Drive, which may become the entrance driveway to the new library) please call the Library at (304) 876-2783.

Come to the Clarion Fitness Center in Shepherdstown for SALGA YO, a new class with Jeanne Fisher which incorporates the gentle stretching of yoga before and after 30 minutes of Salsa and other Latin-based dance cardio will be held at the Clarion Fitness Center on Wednesdays at 9:10 a.m. Call for more information at 304-870-7011.

"A Photographic Impression of Jefferson County": An invitation to come and see what Jefferson County looked like in the late 1970s and early 1980s will be exhibited at the AHA! Fire Hall Gallery, 108 North George St., Charles Town from now through Jan. 26. The exhibit features the photography of Hali Taylor.

Pedal & Paddle is offering free bicycle maintenance classes for girl scouts and boy scouts starting now thru the end of March. The classes will be held Saturday mornings 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Due to limited space each class is limited to 10 kids per class. We will go over the parts of a bike, regular bike maintenance and how to change a flat tire. Please do not bring bikes for the class. You must make and appointment to attend the class. A book signing has been scheduled for A Veil of Shattered Dreams, the debut novel of Shepherd University student Rachel Stark. The signing will be from 1 4 p.m. at Beasley's Books and Eccentricities 307 W. Washington St. in Charles Town, where the novel was developed and edited.

Almost Heaven Event,: The Jefferson County Organization of Democratic Women announces Simone Campbell will be their keynote speaker at this years annual "Almost Heaven" event at 6 p.m. at the Skylight Restaurant and Ballroom in Charles Town Casino. Sister Simone Campbellof "Nuns on the Bus" fame is an activist for social justice. Local singer songwriter Kipyn Martin will provide entertainment. Break Through Your Clutter Workshop presented by Teresa Holmes-Lindsey, Life/Career Coach

The Annual Choir Festival, sponsored by the Shepherdstown Ministerial Association, will be held at 4 p.m. at Christ Reformed Church, located at 304 East German Street. This program of music and fellowship provided by many churches in the Shepherdstown area will be in tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. Thomas C. Segar, vice president of Student Affairs at Shepherd University, will offer reflections on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. For additional information, please contact Mary Ann Morgan, service coordinator at 304-876-2411.

The Jefferson County Council on Aging will host Cash Bingo.. Doors will open at 5:30pm; Early Birds at 6:30 p.m.; Regular Bingo at 7 p.m. Regular Game Payout $50; Special Game Payout $75,. All Pro Dad Event: Tony Dungy Simulcast and Family Football drills!

Team up with Tony Dungy to hone your skills as a husband and father, while giving your child/ren a day they will always remember. Kids will be guided through age-appropriate football drills designed to encourage and challenge children. Concluding the event is a simulcast message from Tony Dungy on his relationship with Christ and its impact on his life as a husband, father, and coach.

Presented by Charles Town Baptist Church, the All Pro Dad Event will feature five activity drill stations to provide quality time for guys, gals and kids to learn about each other and about God. The stations include: running back, defensive back, quarterback team chaplain and coaching. Cost: $10 per family with scholarships available.
