Anat Cohen to perform at the Frank Arts Center

By Staff | Mar 4, 2013

Friends of Music proudly announces the Eastern Regional Jazz Festival concert featuring the virtuosic talents of guest artist, Anat Cohen and the Shepherd University Jazz Ensemble led by Dr. Kurtis Adams.

Clarinetist-saxophonist virtuoso, Anat Cohen has won hearts and minds the world over with her expressive virtuosity and delightful stage presence. Reviewing Anat?s 2008 headlining set with her quartet at the North See Jazz Festival, DownBeat said: Cohen not only proved to be a woodwind revelation of dark tones and delicious lyricism, but also a dynamic bandleader who danced and shouted out encouragement to her group ? whooping it up when pianist Jason Lindner followed her clarinet trills on a Latin-flavored number.

Join the Friends of Music for this exciting jazz filled evening sponsored by Jefferson Security Bank to be held at the Frank Arts Center on Saturday, March 2, at 8 p.m.

The Friends of Music is a (501c3) non-profit organization that supports and promotes music excellence at Shepherd University and throughout the region.
