'Sewinclined' comes to Yarnability

April 26, 2013
Shepherdstown Chronicle

On April 20, Yarnability, a specialty yarn shop in Shepherdstown, expanded to include Sewinclined, an offering of unique fibers, fabrics, accessories and classes for sewing.

Since its opening in February 2012, Yarnability has offered a wide range of yarn and supplies, as well as classes for knitters, crocheters and spinners. Recently, owner Susan Wolcott, noticed the need for access to sewing supplies and classes.

"Customers frequently asked if we had sewing supplies and we didnt want them to have to travel elsewhere to find them. Now everything they need for their sewing project will be here for them," said Wolcott.

Sewinclined, located in the Yarnability space, will offer cotton, silk, linen and wool fabric.

Classes will be offered for everyone from beginners to those with more advanced skills. Beginner classes will include "Learn to Sew" and "Get to Know your Machine." Advance classes will explore projects such as bags, totes, clothing and quilts.

"It's important to have a place where knitters, crocheters and sewers can find not only supplies, but a place to find inspiration and a chance to learn from others," Wolcott said.

Sewinclined classes will begin Wednesday, May 1.

Yarnability opened Feb. 1, 2012 in historic Shepherdstown and has become a center for creativity for those involved in fiber arts. Yarnability offers knitting, crocheting and sewing supplies and classes. Yarnability is located at 219 South Duke Street.
