Notice to parents of Jefferson County school seniors

May 10, 2013
Shepherdstown Chronicle

Parents of Jefferson County Schools' seniors for school year 2013-2014 are hereby notified that next year all 12th graders must have proof of the following immunizations to start school: Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) anytime during their teen years and MCV4 (Meningitis) if the first dose was given after the age of 16. If the first dose was given before age 16, a second dose is required.

There will be NO grace period. If these immunizations are not up-to-date, the student will not be permitted to enter school. When the immunizations are complete, the student and/or parent must provide a copy to the high school nurse so school records can be updated.

These immunizations are state-required for the 2013-2014 school year.
