Knight chosen as driver of year

By Staff | Sep 20, 2013

The Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority is proud to announce that Raymond Knight has been chosen by the State of West Virginia for Bus Driver of the Year for the Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority.

Knight has been with EPTA since 2009. He started out driving a smaller Demand Response bus and went on to obtain his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to drive a commuter bus for the passengers who commute between Martinsburg and Brunswick, Md. for the MARC the train.

From the start, Knight has been well liked by the EPTA staff, and his passengers. In addition, his dedication for going above and beyond is known for attending EPTA commuter / passenger meetings to talk with the commuters and listen to their concerns. Because Raymond is on the front line for EPTA in his driving position, and because of the nature of the job, he’s able to answer questions for passengers first hand. Safety is number one with Knight and the passengers have publicly commented more than once on how they are comfortable with his driving. Knight also participated in driving an EPTA bus to Charleston for Jefferson County Day at the Capitol 2013.
