The Jefferson County Council on Aging, which provides services to seniors around the county, will host a dinner and silent auction on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Ranson Civic Center. For $30 per person, individuals may select either grilled chicken breast or steak along with baked potato, salad, vegetable and dessert.
Funds raised will support the Council on Aging that offers a number of programs to seniors at its facility located in Ranson as well as meals both on site and delivered to homes and off-site locations. The Council on Aging is currently exploring expansion of the program and an upcoming land purchase and building project to allow for further services to be offered for those in the county who need them. Funds raised via this dinner and auction may help with that endeavor as well as current financial needs.
