Christopher Michael Files, 29, of Martinsburg, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Born Aug. 31, 1984, in Martinsburg, he was the son of Susan Fisher Files and Jeffrey Files.

He was employed at the Falling Waters Campsite as a bookkeeper and just returned to Shepherd University for accounting and financial planning.

He was a 2002 graduate of Martinsburg High School and a 2006 graduate of Shepherd University.

Chris enjoyed spending time with family and friends, riding motorcycles and was a member of the NRA.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Michelle Fravel Files; one brother, Matt Files; beloved niece, Carmyn; grandparents, Howard and Peggy Fisher, Archie and Virginia Riner; cousins, Drew Files and wife Cait, Nate Files, Shelbi, Koty, and Nicholas Fisher; aunts and uncles, Dwight and wife, Missy Files, Marty and wife, Tina Fisher, Mike and wife, Pat Fisher and Danny and wife, Lani Fisher; mother in-law, Cathy Fravel; father in-law, Kenneth Fravel and wife, Meredith; sister in-law, Sierra Fravel; two dogs, Eclispe and Harley; a cat, Gracie; other numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and friends and family at Tractor Supply Company.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Reginald and Virginia Files.

A funeral service was held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at Brown Funeral Home with Pastors Kenneth and Sharon Reed officiating. Interment was in Rosedale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 or to the Berkeley County Humane Society 554 Charles Town Road, Martinsburg, WV 25405.
