Shepherd University President Suzanne Shipley and the Shepherd University Foundation will host a reception for donors and scholars from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10 in the Erma Ora Byrd Hall atrium.
The biennial event honors and thanks donors who sponsor Shepherd University Foundation scholarship, faculty excellence, and program awards, as well as to recognize the outstanding students and faculty members who have successfully competed for those awards in that timeframe.
"This event is a time to recognize and honor the enduring values of hard work and commitment shown by our scholars who compete for these private awards," said Monica Lingenfelter, executive vice president of the Shepherd University Foundation. "It's a heartwarming chance to allow our donors to personally meet the extraordinary students they have invested in with their gifts of time and treasure."
The program will feature President Shipley, scholarship recipients Jason Carnes and Charlee Fox, and a special musical performance by the Shepherd University Scene Stealers. Highlighting the reception will be an opportunity for donors, scholars, and volunteer leaders to mingle and take photos with Shipley. Family and friends of the student scholars are invited to attend.
