Pan Tran is great resource

By Staff | Jan 13, 2014

A great resource in the Eastern Panhandle is the bus system which offers a unique feature for local students commuting to Shepherd University. Commuters have the opportunity to save on fuel costs by riding Pan Tran.

The Eastern Panhandle Transportation Authority’s Pan Tran bus travels to Shepherd University twice daily and has return routes twice daily. With a valid Shepherd University Student I.D., one may ride from Caperton Train Station in Martinsburg to Shepherd University at no charge.

The Shepherd University Circulator leaves Caperton Station at 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday thru Friday when school is in regular session and arrives on the campus’s “H lot” approximately 30 minutes later. The bus remains in Shepherdstown and circulates to a series of stops throughout Shepherd University all day. The return routes leave the “H Lot” at 3:30 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. and proceed back to the Caperton Train Station in Martinsburg arriving approximately 30 minutes later.

For riders who do not have a valid student I.D. the fare is $3 each way. Also accessible to the campus is downtown Shepherdstown and the C&O canal, both short distances from campus.

It is recommended that riders arrive 10 minutes early to the bus stop. For more information regarding the Shepherd University bus route, please contact the Eastern Panhandle Transportation Authority at 304-263-0876, on Facebook www.facebook.com/eptransit and on our website at www.pantran.com
