The next meeting of the Entrepreneurs' Cafe will take place on Thursday, Feb. 6, in the Shenandoah Room at the Inn at Charles Town, 750 Hollywood Drive. The February meeting, co-sponsored with the Eastern Panhandle Entrepreneurs Forum, begins with a networking hour and refreshments at 5:30 p.m., followed by the program at 6:30 p.m.
At the Cafe, attendees pay $10 for "heavy hors d'oeuvres" and the opportunity to hear five local entrepreneurs each give a short presentation, to "pitch" their idea or project for funding. At the end of the presentations, attendees vote on their favorite business and the winning entrepreneur receives the proceeds from the event fee, raffle tickets and sponsorships. The micro-grant, which varies depending on the size of the audience, has ranged from $750-$1,000 at past cafes.
Applications are online at www.facebook.com/EntreprenuersCafeShepherdstownEasternPanhandle or by emailing David Rosen at email@example.com. Display tables for local businesses are available for this meeting on a first-come basis, for $50 each, by contacting Amy Ruth Allen at firstname.lastname@example.org or 304-728-3255. Proceeds from the sale of the display tables will also be given to the winner. Sponsorship opportunities are available by contacting David Rosen at email@example.com.
