Jack M. Bane Sr., 82, of Martinsburg, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Md.
Born Sept. 27, 1931, in Bardane, he was the son of the late Alice V. Harwood Bane and Roger Z. Bane.
He was plant manager at Medusa Cement Company in Pennsylvania, worked at Capitol Cement in Martinsburg and employed with Martin Marietta.
He was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
He was a member of Triluminar Lodge No. 117, A.F. & A.M.; a member of the Bethesda Chapter No. 16, R.A.M. and life member of the B.P.O.E. Elk Lodge No. 778.
Mr. Bane was an avid golfer.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret E. Bane; two sons, Rodney C. Bane, of Salisbury, Md., and Jack M. Bane Jr., of Hampton, Va.; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry, Dale, and Gene Bane, all of Summit Point; six sisters, Mildred Speilman, of Shepherdstown, Helen Marrone, of Charles Town, Nell Pierce, of Montrose, Va.,, Nannie White, of Berryville, Va., Alice Buckley, of White Post, Va., and Kaye Liskey, Middleway.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, George R. Bane.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home with the Rev. John Yost officiating. Interment, with military honors, will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
