| Latest Post: Started By: Rank: Category Overhead PowerlinesFrom my perspective, the highest visibility element in any community is the presence (or lack thereof) of telephone poles and overhead powerlines. Shepherdstown has elected to do nothing about these unsightly obstructions as a function of cost. For whatever reason, albeit funding limitations and/or failed negotiations with Alleghaney Electric, the rational for not burrying these lines should be published in our local paper. It seems absurd that sidewalks were torn-up replaced without monopolizing on the obvious opportunity to burry these utilities.
