Tues., Nov. 8: The Shepherdstown Library will be open 10 to 7 on Election Day. “Bear Hair: Animal Pelts and Poetry” is a hands-on story time for ages four and older to be presented by the Potomac Valley Audubon Society at 1:30 p.m. in the Shepherdstown Library’s Children’s Department. Saturday, Nov. 12: Children three and older are invited to an “All Aboard” story time with songs, stories, and a craft about trains, planes, and cars at 11 a.m. in the Library’s Children’s Department. Friday, Nov. 18: The film “Ida” will be shown free of charge in Reynolds Hall at 7 p.m.

Wed. Nov. 23: The Shepherdstown Library will be open from 10 a.m. to noon, so the Threes, Fours, and Fives program will not meet at 11:15 a.m. The Library will reopen at 10 a.m. on Friday the 25th.

Friday, Nov. 25: The FOSL Book Club will meet in the Library (100 E. German St.) at 5 p.m. to discuss In the Language of Miracles by Rajia Hassib.

Wednesday, Nov. 30: The Board of the Shepherdstown Public Library will hold its monthly meeting starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Library (100 E. German St.). This meeting is open to the public. For more information, call 304-876-2783 or email taylor_h@martin.lib.wv.us.

The Library’s popular children’s programs will continue through Dec. 7; no registration is required. “Lapbabies” for children birth through 18 months is on Tuesdays from 10:15 to 11 a.m. “Time for Twos” meets from 11:15 to noon on Tuesdays. The “Three to Five Year Olds” program is on Wednesdays from 11:15 to noon, but will NOT meet on Wednesday, Nov. 23. The Shepherdstown Museum, at the corner of German and Princess streets, is open on weekends from April through October, on July 4, and during Christmas in Shepherdstown. Public hours are: Saturdays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays, 1-4 p.m. Visits can be arranged at other times by calling 304-876-0910 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Calling all knitters, quilters, rugmakers and others! We meet in the Trinity Episcopal Church Fellowship Hall, corner of German and Church streets, every Tuesday afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. Work on your own projects while socializing with other crafters. (We also take time out for tea and snacks.)

The Trinity Thrift Shop is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop by for some cool finds – clothing for all, jewelry, books, movies, toys, kitchen and other house wares, prints, knick knacks, and holiday items!

The Shop accept accepts donations of clothing, books, jewelry, and many other items. It also collects used eye glasses on behalf of the Lion’s Club. The Thrift Shop cannot accept furniture, other large items and electronics due to limited space.

Contributions may be delivered to the screened-in back porch at any time. Tax receipts are available during business hours. Questions? Call 304-876-6990.

The Shepherdstown Mysteries Walk continues throughout the summer and into the fall every Friday and Saturday evening. The 90 minute walk starts at dusk and showcases at least 20 stories and legends of the town, retold by researcher, Dana Mitchell. Cost is $12 per person and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Pancake Breakfast-All You Can Eat at New Street United Methodist Church, Corner of New and Church streets, in Shepherdstown. Dining Hall in lower level. Serving times: 7:30 to 11 a.m. Pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, applesauce, juice/ coffee/tea. Cost: Adults: $8; Children, 4-12: $5. Carry Out Available.

Trinity Treasure Kids Preschool invites the community to a spaghetti dinner from 5-7 p.m. The dinner will be held in the fellowship hall of Trinity Episcopal Church at the corner of Church and German streets. This year’s dinner will be prepared by Shepherdstown local, Chef Jordan Thompson. You won’t want to miss this meal deal featuring unlimited spaghetti, salad, rolls and drinks for only $7 per adult, $3 kids age 3-11 and kids 2 and under are free. A baked goods table will provide sweet treats for a small donation. Additionally, a silent auction will be held featuring homemade crafts, toys, gift baskets, gift certificates and more.

Eastern Panhandle Entrepreneurs Forum (EPEF) will present “How to Work with the Media to Promote Your Business.” Panel discussion will include Jeff Bowers, executive producer/assistant news director, WHAG-TV; Emily Daniels, assistant city editor & staff writer, The Journal; John McVey, news director, WRNR; Toni Milbourne, editor, Shepherdstown Chronicle; Christine Snyder, editor, Spirit of Jefferson. 5:30 p.m.networking and refreshments; 6:30 p.m.program at The Bavarian Inn, 164 Shepherd Grade Road, Shepherdstown.

Anderson Electric LLC is once again conducting a Morgan’s Grove Road cleanup as part of the West Virginia Adopt-a-Highway Statewide fall cleanup from 1 to 3 p.m. Safety vests, gloves and bags will be provided. All volunteers must be over 12 years of age. Please meet athe Anderson Electric AAH sign beside the railroad crossing entrance to the park at 1 p.m. If we have enough volunteers, we’ll also clean up Gardners Lane. Jefferson High School Vocal Music will be presenting a Dinner Theater, Disney Style, fun for the whole family! We’ll have princesses, Frozen friends, Olaf, Mad Hatter and so many more.
