The Shepherdstown Library’s popular children’s programs are offered in the Children’s Department through May 24; no registration is required. “Lapbabies” for children birth through 18 months is Tuesdays from 10:15 to 11 a.m. “Time for Twos” meets from 11:15 to noon on Tuesdays. The “Three to Five Year Olds” program is on Wednesdays from 11:15 to noon. Jan. 22: The Rumsey Radio Hour (music, satire, and much more) will be presented at Shepherd University’s Marinoff Theater (62 West Campus Drive) at 2:30 and 8 p.m. on Saturday, and at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets for these live shows may be purchased at the Shepherdstown Library or at www.foslwv. org/. The proceeds benefit the Library’s programs.

Fri. Jan. 27: The FOSL Book Club will meet at 5 p.m. in the Library to discuss The Hemingway Book Club of Kosovo by Paula Huntley.

Mon., Feb. 6: Children ages 3 through 5 are encouraged to attend a fun Spanish immersion story time at 10:30 a.m. in the Shepherdstown Library’s Children’s Department (100 East German St.). The Shepherdstown Museum, at the corner of German and Princess streets, is open on weekends from April through October, on July 4, and during Christmas in Shepherdstown. Public hours are: Saturdays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays, 1-4 p.m. Visits can be arranged at other times by calling 304-876-0910 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Calling all knitters, quilters, rugmakers and others! We meet in the Trinity Episcopal Church Fellowship Hall, corner of German and Church streets, every Tuesday afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. Work on your own projects while socializing with other crafters. (We also take time out for tea and snacks.)

The Trinity Thrift Shop is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop by for some cool finds – clothing for all, jewelry, books, movies, toys, kitchen and other house wares, prints, knick knacks, and holiday items! The Shop accept accepts donations of clothing, books, jewelry, and many other items.

It also collects used eye glasses on behalf of the Lion’s Club. The Thrift Shop cannot accept furniture, other large items and electronics due to limited space. Shepherdstown Film Society will show “Bicycle Thieves” at 7pm at Reynolds Hall. Admission is free. Mark your calendars for the VETERUN. This race is a 5K, 1/2 marathon and Fun Run at Summit Point Speedway in Summit Point, WV. Proceeds from the race benefit veterans’ causes and donations in the past have been made to: Shepherd University Student Veteran Organization; Charles Town VFW; Jefferson County Parks & Recreation for Veterans’ Pavilion.

This is a chance to run on the racetrack for CASH awards. Wounded warriors are eligible for free registration and the race is seeking wheelchair athletes for its “Steve’s Wheelers” division.
