April 8

On Saturday, April 8 from 1 to 3 p.m. please bring donations books, CDs and DVDs for adults and children – to the ShepherdstownLibrary (100 E. German St.) for the annual FOSL Book Sale (to be held May 12 through 14). Call (304) 876-2783 for details.

April 9 through April 16

To celebrate National Library Week, no fines will be charged for overdue items returned April 9 through 16. The Shepherdstown Library is also offering amnestyfor your prioroverdue fines, if you call us at (304) 876-2783 or visit us at 100 E. German Street) between April 10th and 15th.

April 17

The Shepherdstown Library will be open from 10 to 7 on ‘Easter Monday,’ April 17.

April 18-19

There are two dates in April when the Library’s weekly programs will notbe held: on Tuesday, April 18 and Wednesday, April 19, the Library’s Lap Babies, Time for Twos, and Three to Fives groups will notmeet.

April 19

Children ages four and older are invited to make a rain stick during a free story time about South American rainforests on Wednesday, April 19 from 11 a.m. to noon in the Shepherdstown Library’s Children’s Department. This program is part of the Potomac Valley Audubon Society’s “Passport to Nature” series during spring break, April 17 through 21. April 26

The Board of the Shepherdstown Library will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 26, starting at 7 p.m. in the Library (100 E. German St.). This meeting is open to the public.

April 28

Homeschool students ages 8 through 14 are invited to get creative in a littleBits STEAM building maker lab in the Shepherdstown Library’s Children’s Department (100 E. German St.) at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 28. Registration is required: email splchild@martin.lib.wv.us or call (304) 876-2783.

The Shepherdstown Library’s popular children’s programs are offered in the Children’s Department through May 24; no registration is required. “Lapbabies“for children birth through 18 months is Tuesdays from 10:15 to 11 a.m. “Time for Twos“meets from 11:15 to noon on Tuesdays. News Release-Harpers Ferry Civil War Round Table

On Wed. April 12 @ 8 p.m., Dr. James Bromall, Director of the George Tyler Moore Center, will speak to the Harpers Ferry Civil War Round Table on “By Whose Hand? Holy Week at Trinity Episcopal

On Maundy Thursday, April 13, Annual Seder dinner in the Fellowship Hall.The cost is $14.00 for adults and $6.00 for children over six. Children are encouraged to attend. Please make your reservation by getting your check to the Office as soon as possible.

The Seder is followed at 8:00 p.m. with a celebration of the Holy Eucharist in the Church which ends with the Stripping of the Altar. Following the service, our parishioners will begin the Maundy Thursday-Good Friday Vigil –

8:00 a.m. – Morning Prayer

12:00 noon – Prayer Book Liturgy for Good Friday

3:00 p.m. – Interactive Stations of the Cross in the Chapel for children 8 years and older and adults

3:00 p.m. through 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. – Service of Tenebrae, which is a dramatic service of readings and hymns.

The Third Annual Shepherd International Guitar Festival will be held Friday, Apr.28 through Monday, May 1. Grammy Award winner, David Russell will be our festival headliner. The lineup of artists for the 2017 Festival is outstanding, featuring a variety of traditional pieces and new compositions presented by, and guitarist.
