Can’t we give our new president a break?

By Staff | Jan 9, 2009

I think we as fellow Americans need to stop all of the negativity surrounding our new president.

I think most of all I am so sick of hearing my fellow Caucasian Americans complain about his ethnicity. Am I the only one that remembers that his Mother is Caucasian? And honestly it should not even matter.

How will we ever succeed as a society in whole if we continue to categorize everyone by their color, religion, by the brand of clothes they wear, or the car they drive?

Our social standards are set by the law of our land, the Constitution. The Constitution states that “all men are created equal,” yet we turn our backs on it every day.

We have taken prayers from our schools, yet our laws were based on the ten commandments. Morals have shriveled away to nothing.

Give the man a break. We all know it’s going to take him two terms in office to straighten out the mess that has been created.
