Shepherdstown is seeking to fill the Chief of Police vacancy for its department which consists of 4 full-time and several part time officers.

Shepherdstown has a population of 1,200.

The successful candidate will be expected to orient the department toward community policing while reinforcing and combining supportive relationships with the Shepherd University Police Department and the County Sheriff’s Department and the departments of neighboring municipalities.

The successful candidate will be required to have or obtain West Virginia certification, reside in West Virginia, and obtain West Virginia driver’s license. Salary range $40,000 to $54,000 with benefits.
