What idiocy, what lunacy possessed our town leaders to cut our trees? Two days ago I was thrilled as I gazed at German Street’s gorgeous blossoms. Why go view DC’s trees when we have our own?

Now some are gone. Gone, I say! How many more? I heard the reasoning. Trees grow roots; roots might mess up sidewalks. Save the manmade sidewalks but cut God’s creations! That’s reasoning?

Save me from such wondrous planning. If ever there was a reason to “throw the bums out,” this surely was the list.
