Book sale proceeds exceed expectations
The Friends of the Shepherdstown Library (FOSL) raised $5,200 for Library programs at their book sale held last weekend. The amount was a $900 increase over the amount raised in 2008.
According to FOSL President Fran Brolle. “We are really pleased,” Brolle said. “It looks like people especially value used books when times get tough. We received many, many excellent book donations from the community, and they were just swooped up by others who wanted them. It always amazes me that people in Shepherdstown keep providing – and purchasing – so many books at these sales. This is great!”
