Good Shepherd plans volunteer training sessions

By Staff | May 29, 2009

Good Shepherd Caregivers will hold two volunteer training workshops, on Tuesday, June 2, at 7 p.m. at Zion Episcopal Church Parish House, 221 E. Washington St., Charles Town, and Thursday, June 4, at 4 p.m., at the Good Shepherd office at 101 S. Princess St., Shepherdstown. Attendance at just one of these workshops is required to become a volunteer.

Volunteers with Good Shepherd Caregivers provide non-medical, neighborly assistance to elderly and/or disabled residents of Jefferson County. Services include transportation to medical appointments, helping with errands, light yard or housework, simple chores, visiting, and reassurance calls. The workshops last about two hours. Light refreshments will be served.

To register or to learn more, please contact Good Shepherd at (304) 876-3325, or email to info@gsivc.org.
