Meet artist Scott Cawood at Ricco Gallery

Art by Scott Cawood
Scott Cawood, a metal sculptor whose works range from motorcycles to spike heels and lamps, will be on tap to discuss his current show at Ricco Gallery in Shepherdstown, West Virginia Sundays through August 2.
“I’m delighted that Scott has agreed to be available to discuss his work with visitors to the gallery from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m on Sundays,” said gallery owner Riccardo Accurso. “Scott’s work is totally original and unique, and these ‘meet the artist’ events will be a terrific opportunity to discuss both the ideas behind the sculptures and the techniques that Cawood employs to express those concepts.”
Among the new work Cawood is showing at Ricco is a cityscape of Annapolis, Md.
Featuring the coastal area of Chesapeake Bay as well as the streets and monuments of the 18th Century state capital.
Cawood’s monumental, hand-crafted steel motorcycle, “Sirens of TI,” featuring a figurehead siren with her hair blowing in the wind, was commissioned by the Treasure Island Casino in Las Vegas and remains on permanent display there. He has also shown his work at galleries in several cities and at Shepherd University’s Frank Center in conjunction with the Contemporary American Theater Festival (CATF).
During this year’s CATF, the gallery will be open from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 pm on Sundays. For more information, call (304) 876-2243 or e-mail: ellenhof@comcast.net .
