Outdoor films begin

By Staff | Aug 21, 2009

The Friends of the Shepherdstown Library (FOSL) are once again presenting a free outdoor film series this month.

The films will be shown, weather permitting, behind the Shepherdstown Public Library on King Street beginning at dusk. Attendees must bring their own seating.

FOSL is extremely grateful to sponsor Greg Didden Associates, which has had a major role in making the film series possible this year.

The schedule is as follows:

Friday, August 21: Close Encounters of the Third Kind. An encounter with UFOs, a line worker feels undeniably drawn to an isolated area in the wilderness where something spectacular is about to happen. Richard Dreyfuss, 135 minutes, rated PG.

Friday, August 28: Casablanca. Casablanca, during the early days of World War II, an American expatriate meets a former lover, with unforeseen complications. Starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, 102 minutes, rated PG.
