Rumsey Monument

Everyone is invited to a special free Labor Day Weekend picnic and concert in Shepherdstown from 2:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Rumsey Memorial Park on Mill Street.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase, or people can bring their own picnic baskets. People should also bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. No carry-in alcoholic beverages will be permitted. Because parking at the Park is very limited, people will be asked to leave their cars in the Shepherd University lot at the intersection of Princess and High Streets and walk the two blocks to the park. Shuttle service between the lot and the Park will be available for those who need it.
