Local artist Roxanne Shields creates a watercolor piece. She is among 23 artists featured Nov. 14 & 15 on the Over the Mountain Studio Tour. A preview event is set Oct. 31.

The Down The Alley Gallery, at 123 1/2 E. German St., Shepherdstown (in the alley behind Lost Dog Coffee), will provide a preview show of works by artisans on the Over The Mountain Studio Tour through the month of October.

A Reception for the public to meet the artisans and learn about the tour will occur from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Halloween night, Saturday, Oct. 31.

The tour dates are Nov. 14 and 15 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. There are 12 locations on the tour, and 23 artists and craftpersons showing their works for sale. Customers can make their holiday purchases direct from the artsans, and custom commissions are welcome.

The Over The Mountain Studio Tour is celebrating 20 years this year with a half dozen members who have been on the tour from the very beginning and another half dozen new this year.
