Fall clean-up week continues today
The Shepherdstown fall clean-up week runs Monday, Nov. 2, through Friday, Nov. 6.
During fall clean-up, the Town will collect one truckload of trash from residents regular pick-up site-note that fall clean-up week collections are only for town residents.
Not all trash items can be accepted. Prohibited are:
-building materials, concrete, dirt, rock, sod, paint, batteries, hazardous or dangerous materials, propane, oil, gas tanks, medical and commercial waste.
There are token charges on two classes of items:
-Items containing Freon, such as refrigerators, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers, will be collected at a cost of $50 per item.
-Passenger tires under 15 inches will be collected at a cost of $2 per tire.
For these two classes of items, please stop by Town Hall and pay the billing clerk prior to pick up.

Don’t put used tissues, towels in recycling
With the rise in swine flu cases and the coming flu season, please do the recycle guys a favor: used paper tissues and used paper hand towels go in the garbage, not in the recycle containers.
