We are pleased to announce the 2nd annual SDC Re-Wrap event!

The Shepherdstown Day Care (SDC) is a non-profit day care that offers affordable full-time day care to children in our community by offering tuition on a sliding scale. We know this holiday season is especially hard for many of our families as they face the loss of jobs and increasing costs. The community support for our Re-Wrap program last year was so successful in helping our families provide for their children during the holidays that we are doing it again! Last year, we were able to help many families in our day care. We also provided gifts to children at The Pink House (as safe haven for children in Martinsburg), the Rescue Mission, and Jefferson Ministries.

The SDC Re-Wrap is an effort to gather donations from our own families and from our community. We are asking for gently used toys, clothing, and books for infant through teenage. All items must be clean and in excellent working order.

We are asking our families and our community to Recycle, Reflect, and Receive. RECYCLE: Find items in your house that another child can enjoy.

REFLECT: Take time with your children to find items to donate and reflect on the spirit of giving.

RECEIVE: The SDC RE-Wrap event will be held for day care families & staff only in early December. One night will be for shopping with vouchers, while the second night will be to purchase remaining items with cash.

The SDC Re-Wrap allows our families to get gifts for their children for the holidays at no cost to them or the donor. This is not a fundraiser. This is an opportunity to share what we already have. In addition to helping families at the day care, we will be donating items to The Pink House (a safe home for children) in Martinsburg. They were most grateful for our support last year.

Donations will be accepted at SHEPHERDSTOWN DAY CARE, located on East German Street past the train station, Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Donations are also accepted at ONE, TWO, KANGAROO (www.onetwokangaroo.com) downtown Shepherdstown during normal business hours.
