Wreck shuts down 230 for 30 minutes
A single vehicle accident shut down County Route 230 for half-an-hour on Thursday morning. The driver of the vehicle was injured and transported to City Hospital of Martinsburg. According to the Shepherdstown Fire Department, the driver is in stable condition.
The wreck occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, about a half mile from the intersection of Halltown and Flowing Springs roads. The driver lost control of the vehicle, a late 90’s Honda 4-door, coming over a hill headed towards Shepherdstown.
The Shepherdstown Fire Department was dispatched to the scene around 9:35 a.m., assisted by members of the Harpers Ferry Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriffs Department. Both lanes of 230 were closed down for about half an hour.
By 10:00 a.m., the road was cleared and traffic proceeded as normal.
