2 hour delay for local schools.

Citing concerns over wind chill, Jefferson and Berkeley County officials announced that Monday’s classes would be delayed by two hours, slightly extending the holiday break for many area students. The notices were issued at shortly before 6 p.m., and can be viewed via the link to the West Virginia Department of Education announcement on the sidebar.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for the eastern panhandle and surrounding regions at 4:29 p.m., predicting wind gusts of up to 50 mph throughout the Shenandoah Valley tonight. Wind chill values are predicted to dip between five and 15 degrees below freezing over the night before rising slightly Monday morning to between zero and five degrees below freezing.
