Shepherdstown Day Care Re-Wrap event helped Pink House Safe Haven
As we enter 2010, Shepherdstown Day Care would like to send out a tremendous THANK YOU to our community for helping us brighten the holidays for many of our children and their families.
We hosted our second annual Re-Wrap event at the day care in December and many of our families and staff showed up to participate. The quality and quantity of the donations were once again astounding. There were so many wonderful toys, clothes, and books to offer as gifts to those of our families in need.
We had over half of our families and staff participate this year, which was up from last year. In addition, we were able to provide for 27 kids at the Pink House (Safe Haven for children) in Martinsburg in the form of wrapped toys and gift cards for the older ones. The items we had remaining were taken to the Rescue Mission.
A special thanks must be given to Hannah Lloyd for organizing the entire event this year and Heather Thorne for her incredible “behind the scenes” efforts pricing and organizing.
Many hands went into the amazing event. We are very thankful once again for the success of this program. It would not be possible without the generosity of people taking the time to recycle their used items for the use of another child. Thank you for being such an important part of our holiday season. Many blessings to you and yours and a Happy New Year.
