A Christmas miracle thank you to the community

By Staff | Jan 29, 2010

On behalf of all those who received this special Christmas, I would like to thank you for your generous contribution to what was at first directed toward a few families and then became a blessing to at least 50 needy men, women and children, individuals who for several reasons, fell through the cracks of all the larger Panhandle holiday distribution efforts.

To community corporate partners, Heather Goodwin Henline and employees of The Journal, Clint Miller from the Charles Town Walmart, and Louise Ford and employees of the Winchester Costco, the pre-lit trees and many gifts for all ages were a blessing. As one young recipient put it: “Mommy, is all this for me?”

To community benefactors from the faith community, Grace Baptist Church in Shenandoah Junction, we were blessed to be a part of your annual shoebox project, as well as baby gifts for single moms about to give birth.

To community non-profits, the Care Pregnancy Center, for the many new and slightly used baby items, the new coat you donated for the infant boy who had none, and the many diapers very much needed, was another blessing.

To our individual donors, George Van Warner and his wonderful wooden toys, and Mary Kiehl and her team for their many deliveries of toys, clothing, and turkeys. As one recipient put it: “Each of you is an angel and is special to my children and myself.”

I am believing that all of you will continue to open your hearts during 2010!
