Easter Parade set

By Staff | Mar 26, 2010

The Shepherdstown Easter Parade will take place on German Street on April 3 at 10 a.m.

In a new twist this year the event will be capped off with an Easter Egg Hunt at Rumsey Park and Monument.

Participation in the parade is welcome from all and festive Easter dress, costumes and hats are encouraged. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. at the corner of German and Church streets.

Be a part of a small town tradition and trot down German Street with the Young Majorettes, the Easter Bunny and other cheerful marchers. Several judges stationed in front of the Shepherdstown Library on the parade route will be awarding prizes to the best Easter hats in several different categories.

Categories in different age groups include best boy, girl, adult, family and pet.

Please note that egg hunters should park at White Hall as there will be no parking available at Rumsey. Organizers and volunteers from Shepherdstown Elementary School, The Shepherdstown Visitors Center and the Shepherdstown Business Association and beyond have helped with this year’s event.
