The Friends of the Shepherdstown Library (FOSL) have announced the line-up of poets and musicians for their sixth annual “Left of the Bank” music and poetry evening on Friday, April 9.

Poetry performers include poet Ed Zahniser, who will also serve as Master of Ceremonies; featured reader Professor Phil Bufithis; Shepherdstown Poet Laureate Georgia Lee McElhaney; Ethan Fischer, also known as “Johnny Dime, the Poet of Crime; Shepherd University student poet Caitlin Rausch; and poet and musician Don Oehser. Oehser and singer Laura First also will provide the music, a signature feature of this event.

All proceeds from the event will be used for Library programs.

Coffee, beer, and wine will be served, along with tempting desserts and tantalizing appetizers prepared by local culinary artists.

The event will take place at “Casa Carlos e Isabel,” the home of Carlos Niederhauser and Liz Wheeler, at 202 South Princess Street (the old school-bus garage building with the purple roof).

Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. The program will start at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets to the benefit cost $35. Contributions over and above that amount will be welcome to provide additional support for the library. Anyone giving $100 or more will be listed as a program sponsor.

The tickets are available at the Library now.
