Boil water advisory lifted
Shepherdstown has lifted its boil water advisory, following a water main break Wednesday.

This is a message from the Shepherdstown Water Department.All sampling from yesterdays outage has been completed. No contamination of the drinking water system has been detected. As of 11AM the boil water advisory for the Shepherdstown Area has been lifted. You may resume normal usage of the water at this time.Thank You.

This message is from the Shepherdstown Water Department.
Due to today’s water system outage, the department is issuing a boil water advisory. Customers are advised to bring any water to be consumed be boiled for one full minute, then allowed to cool before consuming. This notice will remain in effect until the system is sampled and we can confirm that no contamination of the water system has taken place. This sampling has begun this afternoon and will likely take 24 hours to complete.We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but is a necessary precaution.
