Inviting local residents to be Hospice Helpers

By Staff | Apr 23, 2010

Spring has finally sprung! When we think about this time of year, spring cleaning comes to mind. Whether it is cleaning out the garage, washing windows, or working in the yard, the warm weather gives us new life and energy. Imagine for just a moment being a person living with a life-limiting illness. The ability to get up and vacuum or dust, sweep the floor or change the sheets becomes a chore that is no longer possible. This is where a Hospice Helper Volunteer steps in and saves the day.

Do you have a desire to volunteer and just haven’t found how to use your talents to help others in need? Think about becoming a Hospice Helper Volunteer! Hospice Helpers do a variety of jobs from vacuuming, dusting, yard work, handyman help, transportation and baking. You decide how much time you want to give. We make training and getting started easy. All that is required is a 1 hour training and some paperwork. We will be having training on Saturday, May 1st at 10:00 a.m. at our Hospice office in Kearneysville. If you are interested in finding out more about becoming a Hospice Volunteer please contact Tricia Lawrence at (304) 267-1870 Ext. 211.
