Doyle dedicated to judge candidate finance reform
West Virginians deserve to know their Supreme Court Justices will never be susceptible to influence by large campaign contributors. We wish to thank Delegate John Doyle for his untiring dedication to providing candidates with an alternative to raising money from litigants and special interests. He has worked diligently for many years in support of a voluntary public financing option for candidates for public office.
The Supreme Court Public Financing Pilot Project recently enacted by the West Virginia Legislature and signed by Governor Manchin will allow candidates meeting rigorous qualifying standards, and who agree not to accept any individual or corporate contributions, to receive a modest amount of public funding to mount a viable campaign.
We thank and congratulate Delegate Doyle for his important contributions toward making our elections open to a more diverse field of candidates and far less driven by money chasing.
