Cadet Colonel Elizabeth Robinson and Regent Dorrene Hale

Two students from Jefferson High School recently received awards from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR).

Cadet Lt. Col. Elizabeth N. Robinson was promoted to Cadet Colonel of the Corps. She was presented the Bronze ROTC Award during the JROTC 2009-2010 Annual Awards Ceremony by Regent Dorrene Hale. This distinguished award is presented to a student who has demonstrated loyalty and patriotism and has earned a record of military and scholastic achievement during his or her participation in a JROTC program. Students must be in the upper 25 percent of their classes in JROTC and in academic subjects. In addition, they must have demonstrated qualities of dependability and good character, adherence to military discipline, leadership ability and a fundamental and patriotic understanding of the importance of JROTC training.

Regent Hale also presented Cadet Chief Master Sergeant Lauren Capps, a senior at Jefferson High School, with a monetary award to help defray her higher education expenses.
