Pony Club hosts memorial event

The Shenandoah Valley Pony Club hosts the 1st Annual Sallie Spaulding Duck Race on Saturday, June 5, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The SVPC United States Pony Club, a non-profit organization, is organizing the fundraiser in Sallie Shepherd Spaulding’s honor. She passed away suddenly a few months ago.

She was a passionate supporter of the club and horses and helped many kids through this program.

The ducks drop at 3:30 p.m. sharp at the Potomac River boat ramp at the foot of Princess Street in Shepherdstown.

Some 1,500 + rubber ducks will be launched into the Potomac River from the bridge.

Tons of great prizes to be given out, including: White water river rafting trip for two; Hagerstown Suns tickets ; Day trip to Atlantic City from Kline’s Bus tours; Scenic railroad excursions from Western Maryland Railroad; Family (4) pack for sightseeing cruise of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor; Many different restaurant gift certificates; Rounds of golf at Whitetail; Maryland Theater tickets; Dinner theater tickets; Hagerstown Speedway passes and many, many more.

You do not have to be present to win. Lots of free games and activities for the kids.
