Boys & Girls Club golf tournament raises fund
MARTINSBURG – The Boys & Girls Club of the Eastern Panhandle will hold its fifth annual golf tournament fundraiser Oct. 1 at Cress Creek Golf & Country Club in Shepherdstown.
Professional long-driver and golf entertainer Tom Roskos will be on hand at 12:15 p.m. for a power-golf demonstration. The eight-time RE/MAX world long-drive finalist also will be available during play to answer questions and, for a small donation, drive a ball for your team.
“We are thrilled to have Tom Roskos as our special guest for this years tournament,” said Justin Henry, event chairman.
He went on to thank the Center for Orthopedic Excellence, the Bavarian Inn and HD Supply for underwriting Roskos’ appearance at the event.
Featuring a scramble format, the tournament will get underway with registration and lunch at 11:30 a.m., shotgun start at 1 p.m. and awards ceremony sponsored by Centra Bank immediately following play.
Sponsorship packages still are available ranging from the $1,300 platinum level to the $500 bronze level. Flag and tee sponsorships are an option as well.
The fee for an individual golfer is $100.
Proceeds from the golf tournament will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of the Eastern Panhandle.
“In 2009, over 1,200 youth in Berkeley, Morgan and Jefferson counties were served by the Club,” stated Stefani Pierson, executive director. “With help and support from the community, we hope to reach even more by the end of 2010.”
