SHEPHERDSTOWN – Shepherdstown Elementary School has benefited from residents simply by going to the grocery store.

By registering your Martin’s Bonuscard and Food Lion’s MVP Customer card online, those stores will donate cash to the school of your choice.

Last year, Shepherdstown Elementary School received $1,020 through this program.

Also last year, Shepherdstown Elementary raised a little more than $2,500 through a box top program.

Small pink labels on the side of cereal boxes and other products can be snipped and given to schools, which redeem them for funds.

Campbell’s soup labels can be translated into dollars by saving the labels and giving them to the school.

Shepherdstown Elementary purchased a new book cart for the library and some gym equipment through this program last year.

Finally, inside the bottle caps of Coke products and printed in the cases are Coke reward numbers, which can be donated to the school of your choice.
