Watershed workshop slated for Thursday
CHARLES TOWN Jefferson County residents interested in forming a watershed organization can learn how to do so Thursday.
Alana Hartman, West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection Potomac Basin Coordinator, will educate attendees on stream pollution and how to solve it. Those interested in forming an organization also can learn about local, state and federal officials’ roles in their group and how they can work to protect stream water quality.
The Jefferson County Water Advisory Committee and the Jefferson County Commission will sponsor the workshop.
The workshop is free. The event will begin at 7 p.m. at the Old Charles Town Library county meeting room, 200 E. Washington St., and is slated to last two hours.
