CHARLES TOWN – Marie Galazzi has been appointed to manage the Partnership for Affordable Housing’s pilot housing assistance program.

Galazzi, who recently managed the homeownership project at Telamon Corp., is most known for her work as Jefferson County’s United Way executive director.

The Partnership for Affordable Housing recently received $60,000 from the HOME Consortium to use toward subsidizing the purchase of foreclosed homes in Jefferson County by three or four low-income families.

Families who are selected based on income and credit will receive homebuyer education and up to $20,000 from the consortium and $5,000 from the partnership to buy and repair a foreclosed home. The partnership will work with the families throughout the entire process.
