Pasta dinner is tonight

By Staff | Oct 1, 2010

The Freedom’s Run Pasta Dinner will take place tonight at the Shepherdstown Men’s Club on the corner of German and King Streets.

“Pasta is the fuel of choice for runners the night before the race,” said Tom Shantz, Freedom’s Run logistics manager.

The dinner, catered by Shepherd University, will take place from 4 until 8 p.m. and will feature live music on the lawn of McMullen Hall on German Street. Race organizers hope to get tourists and runners into downtown Shepherdstown to enjoy what the community has to offer.

Shops along German Street will remain open until 8 p.m., and there will be complimentary parking on both SU campuses – at the University Wellness Center at the race registration site, which is a short walk to downtown Shepherdstown, or on Princess and High Streets.

SU will cater the event and proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the University’s Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sports Department.

Tickets for the buffet-style dinner are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 17 and under and children under 10 get in free. Tickets can be purchased at the registration site or at the dinner.
