Shepherdstown Day Care to participate in program
The Shepherdstown Day Care center has qualified to participate in a government charitable giving program.
Because the center is a nonprofit that provides affordable and educational services for parents and their children, it passed the criteria to become a Combined Federal Campaign, or CFC.
According to a press release, about 50 percent of the day care’s families live at or below the poverty line. While all parents must pay tuition, the SDC offers a sliding scale of payments – for each child ages 2 and older – based upon the parents’ income. The center then covers the difference between the subsidized cost.
