CHARLESTON The Division of Highways has placed a weight restriction on the Jefferson County road in Shepherdstown.

The 17/1 crossing Rattlesnake Run, which is east of CR-31/1, now limits a maximum load of 20 tons for two-axel trucks, 25 tons for three- or more axel trucks and 30 tons for four- and five-axel semi-trailers.

Overweight vehicles must take a five-mile detour via CR-31.
